Saya is a multi-potential artistic force, musical researcher, and anti-racist activist. Born in Santiago de Compostela, with Palestinian roots and currently based in Porto, her musical path is influenced by the various cultural and artistic worlds that surround her. On her DJ sets, she explores roots rhythms, from kuduro to arab experimental electronic, from gqom to baile and rave funk, amongst others. A musical journey that is also a map into the resistance of populations and territories around the world. Let’s celebrate dissidence!
For this special gig in Tremor, Saya will team up with the visual artist Bárbara Paixão.
Bárbara Paixão (Bombarral, 1994) is a digital media artist who develops 2D visuals, interactive installations and VJing sets.
Motivated by the complementarity between art and technology, her focus is on working on the interaction between body and computer. With an audiovisual installation format she builds an interactive experience by often working with sensors that capture human presence and software that acts in real time.
Using real-time also allows her to create visuals that are reactive to sound, in addition of being live manipulated, creating synesthetic experiences.
