Ponto de Partida is an exhibition that proposes a reflection on beginnings - not just as moments of departure, but as spaces of possibility and transformation. Based on Centro Cultural da Caloura's collection, the exhibition travels through memories, influences and paths that shape artistic creation and are reflected in the works on display. Organised into three sections—The Island, The Heritage and The Drift—the exhibition spans over multiple points of origin. In a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, the artworks reveal a territory where past and present collide, where the island expands beyond its shores, and where creation reinvents itself with each journey. This exhibition also sets out to be a starting point, making room for continuity, emphasising the ceaseless process of transformation in art and society. In doing so, it invites the public to join this trajectory, encouraging new ways of perceiving and thinking about the world.
