Returning to Rabo de Peixe, filmmaker Diogo Lima, from Ribeira Grande, takes on the persona of DJ Gaivota—his alter ego behind the decks and a relentless mashup creator, reimagining Azorean music in new and unexpected ways. Also returning is the crew that Resident Advisor dubbed the "Azorean DJ collective Convidados." Key figures in São Miguel’s nightlife, DJ Milhafre, Paco Piri Piri, and Las Makinas, join the party with an unpredictable sonic cocktail. Milhafre delivers a refined dancefloor selection worthy of a top-tier crate digger, while Paco Piri Piri brings a slap of Latin rhythms that answer the question: "What if the Comandos had a Zumba class?". Las Makinas round it out with bursts of anarchic energy—after all, they’re known for mixing Pantera with Macarena covers sung by members of the diaspora. The result? Much like the side dishes served with chicharro at the legendary restaurant Mané Cigano—you never quite know what you’re getting, but one thing is certain: no one leaves feeling indifferent. No pressure, no expectations, no judgments. The only rule? Party.
