Nuno Gervásio is an example of mastery in the art of digital content and phone photography. But even the most skilled master is bound to one day find a suitable opponent. In this case, the hyperactivity of the festival combined with the photogenic nature of the island itself meant that Gervásio came to the Azores prepared to test his savoir-faire. Comprising the category of “People who came the Azores for the first time because of Tremor”, Nuno Gervásio paints a picture of what his baptism in Tremor 2016 was like:
«The first day I went to Tremor was also the first day I went to the Azores, and it was just an incredible day: I went to Ferraria earlier because I had never experienced that hot ocean water. I was already a little nervous about photographing the festival and, suddenly, something happened that I had never experienced before: my phone, because of the hot water, went out and died. I was off to a good start. I hadn’t even met anyone, and I had already lost my equipment. It was the only time I ever had to borrow a phone. And then, the other great tragedy of that day was that the bus broke down on the way up from Ferraria. So, there was me, António Pedro Lopes, Inês Meneses and Bernardo Mendonça hitchhiking, very late for Joana Gama's concert at Arquipélago. When we arrived at Ribeira Grande, Joana Gama and a full room were already waiting for us. We sat down and the concert started right away. It was a very memorable day. There was tragedy, there was drama, there was emotion, there was everything.»
