With a curriculum at the festival that already stocks up to five years in the area of production and audiovisual (2015-2020), one year as a guest artist (with the project “Despensas – A Tradição de Rabo de Peixe", in 2019) and a Mini-Tremor under his alter-ego DJ Paco Piri Piri (with Valley Dation, in 2021), Rubén Monfort, who had just arrived from Spain, lived up to the expression “mi casa, su casa”, by yielding his terrace to the garage rockers from Barcelos, The Glockenwise, where they put up the first concert of Tremor em Tua Casa (2014):
«The first concert in the history of Tremor took place at my house, on Rua da Arquinha, Ponta Delgada. When I arrived in the Azores, a month before the festival, the promoters had launched a photography contest in which the prize was to have part of the festival take place at your house. My roommates and I had a large terrace at home, so we started taking pictures and ended up winning with a photo of two tourists coming from a cruise holding a sign that said “I am the Tremor of the Island”. Luís Banrezes and Márcio Laranjeira (the festival’s programmers) paid a visit to the house before the concert, to get a look at the space. And they said to me: “Look, don't worry, we don't think that many people will show up for the concert. It will probably be just us, the people from the festival’s organization”. It was my first week working at Açoriano Oriental, and I only managed to leave work at the last minute. When I got home, I already had the artists from the festival waiting there. More and more people kept arriving and when we noticed, there were about eighty of us on the terrace. It completely exceeded both my and the organization’s expectations. It was incredible, it was a great start to the festival.»
